Thein Pe Myint (Burmese: သိန်းဖေမြင့် [θéɪɴ pʰè mjɪ̰ɴ]; also Thakin Thein Pe (သခင် သိန်းဖေ [θəkʰɪ̀ɴ θéɪɴ pʰè]); 10 July 1914 – 15 January 1978) was a Burmese politician, writer and journalist. A writer of several politically and socially prominent books and the founder of an influential newspaper The Botataung, Thein Pe Myint was a leading Marxist intellectual and was an important player in the Burmese independence movement and postwar politics.
